So, BLOODBATH did one of those rare things the other night: play live in Sweden. At Debaser Strand, a very small and intimate venue. Probably a warm-up gig to the Bloodbash-thing in London, but hey. we’ll take it anyway.
The gig was great, and instead of repeating every song there is, or doing a long review I thought I’d just share some pics and general remarks with you guys. First of, the setlist:
- Let The Stillborn Come To Me
- Mental Abortion
- So You Die
- Breeding Death
- Anne
- Ways To The Grave
- Cancer Of The Soul
- Weak Aside
- Soul Evisceration
- Unite In Pain
- Like Fire
- Mock The Cross
- Hades Rising (Encore)
- Eaten (Encore)
- Cry My Name (Encore)
15 songs, all performed in blood-soaked frenzy and a wink of the eye. Nick joking about how it’s always fun to be playing in “our hometown” while being the only non-Swede of the crew, the audience crying out for faster songs (with the reponse that “no one can play faster that the Axe”) and everyone having a generally good time.
Oh, and there are some really great songs in there as well. Classics like Like Fire, Eaten (of course), Breeding Death, So You Die and Cancer Of Te Soul may still be the most popular with the crowd, but it’s now noted that newer stuff like Mock The Cross and Let The Stillborn Come To Me go remarkably well together with those classics in a live context.
All in all: a great night. Bloody and fun, just the way we like it!
